Africa Turns to Drones, Robots to Help Enforce COVID-19 Lockdowns

Nations including Ghana, Namibia, and Tunisia have taken to the deployment of drones - some of which are capable of thermal imaging - to ensure their respective populations adhere to lockdown measures to curb the COVID-19 pandemic. Meanwhile, Rwanda's Minister of Health, Dr Daniel Ngamije, announced the use of humanoid robots that will monitor patients' vital signs including temperature, heart rate, blood, and oxygen levels and relay response to doctors and nurses remotely and minimise human interaction.
